LOWER SCHOOL ART POSITION
Westminster Academy in Memphis TN, seeks an individual who is gifted in teaching and relating to lower school children. At present, we have a Lower School Art position available. The applicant should be passionate about his/her faith in Jesus Christ and be familiar with the philosophy and methodology of Classical Christian education. Preference will be given to those applicants with teaching experience who can articulate a meaningful philosophy of teaching within a Classical Christian pedagogy. Westminster Academy is committed to teaching all truth as God’s truth through the lens of Scripture from an historic Reformed theological perspective. UPPER SCHOOL POSITION
Westminster Academy, in Memphis, TN, is currently seeking a science instructor able to teach two sections each of courses in Life Science 8th graders, as well as an introductory Logic course. Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field, display a great passion for the sciences and should be able to cultivate a love for them within students. Priority will be placed on applicants who can implement the hallmarks of a classical education—Socratic teaching, the integration of subjects and the integration of Christian faith and learning with the ability to show how the sciences reveal the nature and character of God. General Expectations:
Westminster Academy seeks teachers who are passionate about God, children, and Classical Christian education, who desire to nourish the souls of students in a challenging academic environment.
Applicants should have a deep and abiding passion for Jesus Christ as He is revealed in all that is true, good, and beautiful in scripture and in each and every subject. The applicant should value the role “education” can fulfill as God’s tool to awaken hearts and minds to His attributes and character. Teachers should have the ability to model and transfer that passion to students through formal and informal instruction.
Because Westminster Academy is committed to the historic reformed faith, prospective teachers should be able to articulate their understanding of its foundational tenets and their adherence to it.
Priority will be given to those applicants who are able to articulate a meaningful and purposeful philosophy of teaching within a classical Christian pedagogy. Our aspiration is to graduate students who think rightly and who love that which is worth loving.
