MENUMENU

Congratulations to Westminster Academy Seniors Annie Bolton and Gibby Fakes who were named National Merit Finalists by Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. In addition, Westminster senior Sarah Renshaw was previously named a National Merit Commended Scholar for the year.
While the nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, 14% of Westminster Academy seniors have made the list of finalists and commended scholars over the last 5 years. National Merit Finalists and Scholars are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.
Additionally, Westminster Academy continues to lead all co-ed schools in the city for average ACT score, with an average of 29 on the ACT over the last 5 years. The Westminster seniors’ average exceeds the state average by a full 10 points for the same time period.
“Classical Christian education has the unique capacity to unlock a student’s full potential,” said Headmaster Ralph Janikowsky. “By teaching both the heart and mind together and fully engaging students in the great conversations of the ages, we partner with parents to prepare students to engage the 21st century world for Christ.”
While we know, as parents and educators, that the ultimate goal is not high test scores, the continued trend of all of our seniors performing so exceptionally on their college entrance exams shows that classical Christian education excels at the job of preparing students for these tests.
