Position: First Grade Teacher

Westminster Academy is seeking a 1st grade teacher who is passionate about God, children, and classical Christian education, and whose desire is to cultivate wisdom and virtue in the souls of first grade students through instruction across the curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a gifted teacher and joyful communicator, able to relate well to first graders and teach reading using phonics. Explanation of our model of education and the first grade scope and sequence are available on our website. Priority will be given to applicants with experience in classical Christian education in the grammar school. Position: Upper School Science Teacher

Westminster Academy, is currently seeking a science teacher for the 2020-21 school year able to teach 7th grade Earth Science and 10th grade Anatomy. Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field, display a great passion for the sciences and should be able to cultivate a love for them within students. Priority will be placed on applicants with prior
teaching or professional experience and who can implement the hallmarks of a classical education—Socratic teaching, the integration of subjects, and the integration of Christian faith. Candidates must demonstrate a desire and ability to show how the sciences reveal the character of God.

Position: Bookkeeper

Westminster Academy is seeking a bookkeeper for immediate hire to assist with payroll, student billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other duties assigned by the CFO.

Position Title: Director of Development

Westminster Academy seeks an experienced leader to become our Director of Development. The Director of Development reports to the Headmaster and is a member of the school’s administrative and leadership team. This person is responsible for
implementing a program designed to attract the maximum of gift support for the school and for managing all related aspects of fundraising. This includes developing and maintaining contacts with prospective donors and making personal asks for leadership
giving. This person will oversee the entire giving program, including annual fund solicitation, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events. He or she will identify new and creative opportunities for mission-appropriate giving. This position is also responsible for Westminster Academy’s Alumni Relations program.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required. We seek an experienced user of the Microsoft operating system, including both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. A working knowledge of fundraising principles and practices in independent school and non-profit sectors is preferred. The candidate must be skillful in dealing effectively with a wide variety of personal and financial issues, situations, and problems. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with, and respond effectively to questions from, parents, faculty, grandparents, and visitors.

Position Title: Chief Financial Officer

Westminster Academy seeks an experienced leader to become our Chief Financial Officer. As an administrative position, the CFO reports to the Headmaster and is a member of the school’s administrative team. The officer is responsible for all financial matters for the school, including tuition management, accounts payable, payroll, monthly reporting, managing a budget in excess of $5 million, and achieving strategic goals set by the School Board and Head of School. The CFO will manage Human Resources for the faculty and staff.

An accounting/finance degree (or other appropriate degree) and experience are required and we seek an experienced user of Quickbooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel. A working knowledge of accounting principles and practices in independent school and non-profit sectors is preferred. The candidate must be skillful in dealing effectively with a wide variety of personal and financial issues, situations, and problems. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with, and respond effectively to questions from, parents, faculty, and visitors.
